...but, yeah, sometimes. i'm getting a handle on it, though.
[He is not.]
the universe thing doesn't happen, uh, regularly. at most, once or twice. but it's a thing that definitely happens. kind of like a tsunami or another natural disaster. i'm not usually the guy who's sent to deal with it, but i tend to get swept up in it....
mostly i just pursue hobbies to get my mind off stuff. i do a lot of archery in my spare time?
<StillHuman>
Ooh, archery! That's so cool! I had a friend back home who was into that- She had this crossbow that folded up all cool and tiny? And then she could whip it out and it would snap open and go PING! WHOOSH! And bam, arrow right through
[Crap part two; she's supposed to be Marley, not herself!]
An apple! On someone's head! Pin it back into the wall! She did it at parties, she's a REALLY good shot.
So uh- kind of like that?
<hawkeye>
[Lucky for Harley, Clint doesn't know anything about her, and thus would probably not be able to draw any sort of conclusion from this.]
oh, man. that sounds really cool! and, uh, also kind of dangerous, but also cool. the most dangerous party trick i ever try is usually shattering a glass bottle with a thrown nickle.
but, yeah, i mostly do longbow archery. sometimes if i'm feeling like it, i'll use a compound bow, but longbow is the go-to. if you ever wanna learn, i can show you the ropes.
<StillHuman>
[This is Harley wracking her brain for any knowledge about archery, and mostly coming up with bad fantasy movies.]
<hawkeye>
compound bows use a pulley system to make it easier to draw them back--less effort and easier to keep drawn. but also, they're much harder to maintain than longbows. and they're pricier. longbow'll probably be perfectly fine for whatever you want to use it for.
<StillHuman>
[Harley's halfway through an invitation to trade lessons before she remembers. She can't very well show up at his door; Marley's still a human.]
But uh, I'm pretty busy at the mo, got a lot of boring human stuff to do while I still can, you know how it is. I've got some friends who offered me a place to stay, but if that falls through, I'll totally come a-knockin!
You got like an office at the apartment building? Just running things out of your place?
<hawkeye>
i don't, um, think so? at least, i was in the process of cleaning the office, but then i got sidetracked....
but i live on the 2nd floor. apartment 204. you can just buzz in and ask to be let in, introduce yourself, etc. hope things work out for you.
